I am a novice developer and believe that the installation of thyme really messed up mySQL. The installation process was never completed, but it caused all of my Joomla sites to not work. The message I receive from those sites is "Unable to connect to the database:Could not connect to MySQL". I've tried reinstalling Joomla with both old and new databases and I get the same error messages. So I cannot connect to even databases that should have no connection to the thyme installation.
The strangest thing is that MySQL is still working for some applications. Microsoft outlook stopped properly sending messages which may or may not be connected to this problem?
I've really messed up something in MySQL. Any help that you can give me would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thank you! |

Hi,
Thyme's installation should not interfere with any other databases / tables. Is there more to the error message? E.g. unable to connect to mysql "bad username / password" or something like that?
Thyme does not (nor can it) touch outlook or its ability to send e-mail.
Let me know regarding the error message please. |

I did get another error messages earlier. Unfortunately I don't remember exactly what they said. I just loaded a new server and now have a working Joomla site.
It's a mystery to me, but this time I'm just going to work around it. Thank your for your reply! |
