Hi Ian,
Thanks for your help with my requests so far.
For all those reading this and wondering about the level of support and helpfulness of the thyme team, I can say that I have found their rapid responses and solutions to my requests (both on the forum and also in private emails) to be outstanding
I have tried many calendaring systems and say that that the thyme calendar is the most flexible, well thought out and implemented calendaring solution that is available for a great price. (probably better than most expensive solutions also).
However, there are a few things that I would like to see implemented that would make the calendar even better.
1. An improved printing ability. This ability to not only have a 'Printable view' page, but an actual print button that allows a flexible ability to print from different views ie days, event lists, months and have this actually invoke the print dialogue box. maybe also take care of pagination ie so that things don't get cut off halfway when printing multiple pages etc Have a look here and click the print icon for one way to possibly do it https://intranet2.scgs.qld.edu.au/calendar/calendar.asp?caltype=week
2. Improved viewing of a large number of multiple entries. If on one day, I have 50+ items (don't laugh, I have have this requirement) the list will cause the page/layout to loook/go crazy. Perhaps some sort of nesting of related items ie that same category could be accomplished by a show/hide behaviour??
3. Take control of the event popup window! At the moment, the popup window is a fixed size regardless of the amount/size of content contained in the popup. This not only looks ugly when the content is minimal, but causes scroll bars when content is to big
As I mentioned in a previous post, this could be handled nicely through Ajax, but just an improvement on the current box solution would help.
4. True CSS only layout. At the moment, the table based layout, styled with CSS is quite flexible. But it would really be improved by going for CSS for layout also. This would also help/encourage theme designers.
This is a great app, a little polish and a few enhancements/improvements would see this a true leader in online calendaring.
Cheers
