I can't seem to find a way to assign users or groups for a project. Is this supported? Can I allow specific users to add events?

Thanks.

Hi rsuplido,

I hope I'm understanding what you want to do correctly.

The only way to add events is when wrapping Thyme. Joomla Studio will only display events . You can configure access per each calendar in the Calendars section of Thyme's admin panel. If you haven't already, you should use the Mambo/Joomla auth module so that Thyme can see your Joomla users.

Let me know if you have any questions / trouble.

Thanks ian, i see that now but, when I logon from Joomla (auth.php is installed btw), using com_thyme, I only see the calendar with events that I added as an admin. How can other members add events? Is there a module that I can create for users to select that option?

Thanks.

Hi rsuplido,

Other users can add events if you add them to the members list of a calendar. This can be done from Thyme in Admin -> Calendars. Each calendar has it's own list of members that can add events and or view it.

Let's say you have a user named 'jdoe' that you want to be able to add events to calendar 'Night Life'. Assuming this calendar exists... in Thyme click on Admin (at Thyme's footer), then Calendars. Click on 'N' in the list of characters since 'Night Life' starts with 'N'. Select the Members tab and click the Add button. A window will pop up allowing you to search for users. Type in all or part of jdoe's userid or name and click search. jdoe should appear below the search box with an 'Add' button next to his name. Click on Add next to jdoe and he will be added to the calendar's members list. You can then close the search window. To allow jdoe to add events, change his access level to 'Normal'. This will allow him to add events to the Night Life calendar.

Let me know if I'm totally off base on what you're asking. Are you asking how to allow users to select different calendars to view?

I did that already. I've added a Joomla user to the calendar with Normal rights. My question is how can a user add a new event within Joomla and without having the user go to the classic Thyme interface.

Thanks.

They can not. Events have to be added through Thyme. Most use Joomla's wrapper feature to do wrap Thyme so that users may add events from inside Joomla.

I see. I was hoping to stay away from using wrappers. Maybe this can be added in the future? An add event widget might be a great feature.

Thanks.
