Love your product and support. Last questions before we buy.
1. I need the loaction module, but everytime I do the updates it corrupts the locations module functionality. Is there a way to do updates without this occuring?

2. My group would like the ability to filter by multiple categories (ie meetings and birthdays) is that possible? If so how.

Thanks again

Glad to hear you like the system.

1. Unfortunately there's not currently a way to use the updater on the files that are involved in the locations module addition.

2. You can filter by multiple categories when looking at actual calendars individually (but not when looking at a Thyme "view"). The nav bar Legend module offers this functionality. The Legend module is not enabled by default, so you'll have to enable it in Admin -> Default Options -> Nav Bar.

Once it's enabled, it will display the categories when viewing the calendar. Clicking on a category name will set the filter to include that category. Clicking on another category adds that one to the filter. Clicking on the names again removes them from the filter. The categories that are included in the filter should have a bullet to the left of their name in the legend.
