I've installed Zend Optimizer and it is confirmed in to be installed in phpinfo(). Below is the output from phpinfo on that part of the page:

This program makes use of the Zend Scripting Language Engine:
Zend Engine v2.1.0, Copyright (c) 1998-2005 Zend Technologies

But I am still getting a Failed result for Zend Optimizer in the Encoding Tester page. Any suggestions?

I'm running Apache 2, php5.1.1

Hi Ernest,

If the optimizer were installed, it would have more text saying Zend Optimizer version x.x.x. (or something close). The most common cause of this is 2 PHPs or 2 php.ini's on the system. Do you have 2 php.ini s around?

I had mistyped the phpinidir directive in my apache configuration file. Now I do get the correct output from phpinfo() as shown below, but the Encoding Tester is still failing for the Zend Optimizer

Hi Ernest.

Thats odd. You can upload the zend version of Thyme and attempt to install it. If you get a message saying "This file has been encoded and requires the Zend Optimizer", then PHP truly does not think the zend optimizer is installed. If it you don't get that message, then there's something wrong with our test encoder script. I'll take a look at it.
