Hi,

I recently switched from a demo version to a purchased version of Thyme, and I have noticed several differences. When I did so, I kept the database tables that we set up using the demo versions.

We have two groups of users. The members in group 1 all own a calendar, which is their default calendar. The members in group 2 do not have calendars, but have view only access to all the calendars owned by the users in group 1.

In the purchased version the following behaviors exist:

1. When a user logs in, he does not see the calendar that shows as that user's default on the 'Options' page. So, on each login the user must manually select his/her calendar.

2. After switching to the user's default calendar clicking on the '+' brings up the Events Request window, rather than the New Event window. The options for these calendars are:
Alow multiple categories for events: on
Remember locations: on
Strict event security: off
Event Requests: enabled on
Mode: view only

The only user in the system able to add an event is the Administrator.

The demo version did not exhibit either of these behaviors, on the same data. The demo set of behaviors seem more correct to me.

Thanks
Dee

Hi Doyle,

Is it possible for you to e-mail me an admin login/pw and URL to your Thyme installation please?

Actually, I was able to reproduce both of these. Stand by for a fix.

Hi Doyle,

Download http://www.extrosoft.com/products/thyme/updates/1.2/access-ioncube.zip (or access-zend.zip depending). Unzip it. This will create class.access.php. Upload this file over the existing one in include/classes/class.access.php

Let me know if you have any questions/problems.

Hi,

Thanks for the fix. That did indeed fix problem 2: (users request events rather than adding them) but not problem 1. (When a user logs in their default calendar is the site default rather than the default listed in the Options window.)

Thanks
Dee

Hi Doyle,

This was a change made after you downloaded the demo. There are 2 schools of thought. 1 is user goes to Thyme, navigates to some calendar, wants to make changes, logs in, has to re-select the calendar they were just using. 2 is your situation. User goes to Thyme and just logs in. The last calendar selected was the calendar specified as the default calendar in default options. You can either:

a) download http://www.extrosoft.com/products/thyme/updates/1.2/class.user.txt rename to .php, upload it over include/classes/class.user.php

b) If people aren't going to be accessing the calendar without logging in, disable the guest account.

Let me know if you have any questions/problems.
