|
|
Hello,
Our development group uses a test staging server to get things ready before being pushed to the live server(s). Here is an example:
test.calendars.mysite.com - testing grounds
calendars.mysite.com - live website
From what I can gather, I will need a license for each of these. Is this correct?
Also, when my website goes live, it will be on 2 servers which are load balanced. It still will only be 1 website, but 2 servers will be serving the content depending on load (NLB). Will I run into any issue there?
Thank you!! |

Hi,
Staging / dev licenses are free as long as the site name is obviously a test server.
You should not run into any licensing issues with load balancing on 2 servers as long as it is 1 web site.
Let me know if you have any more questions. |

Hi,
I have a similar question.
I downloaded the evaluation version for developping on one of my subdomains (hanz.raeves.net), but in a few day this site has to go live on hanz.tv.
For this site, I will have a licensed version.
I'm testing the "move" using JoomlaCloner on another subdomain (butest.raeves.net).
Everything works fine, but whenever I look at a Thyme page, all links are referring back to the original Dev site.
I tried to change this by manually modifying the config.php file in the /thyme/include folder, but no joy.
When checking the site settings in the Admin console, it still says site: hanz.raeves.net.
Can I change this and if so, where?
Thanks,
Peter |

Hi Peter,
This is indeed kept in include/config.php. Make sure you change both the path AND the url setting. |

Hi Ian,
I did change all those things, but it is not enough. I also found a reference to the Dev site in the database (table GlobalSettings) and changed it.
But still, somewhere in a file (not in any table anymore - I checked them all) is hanz.raeves.net (Dev) mentioned as the sitename (and it should be butest.raeves.net).
If there is no work-around for this problem, I would like at least to keep the data which is entered on the Dev site.
Is this possible?
Thanks,
Peter |

Hi Ian,
The urls are:
for the Dev site: http://hanz.raeves.net
and for testing JoomlaCloner, I used http://butest.raeves.net
The site is in Dutch, I don't know if this is a problem for you
You'll see the problem when you go to the page "Beschikbaarheid" (Availability) on http://butest.raeves.net .
The page displays like it should be, but you'll notice that any link from that page (still on the butest.raeves.net site) points back to http://hanz.raeves.net
The same thing happens when you go to the page "Over Hanz" (About Hanz) - "Optredens" (Performances).
Both pages use the same Thyme calendar, but I used different views...
Thanks for looking into this.
Best regards,
Peter |

Hi,
I'm sorry, I don't see any links on those pages. Maybe I have to log in? Or maybe it's the language barrier. I was not aware this was using Joomla Studio. You may have to edit the path and URL in components/com_thyme/thyme.php in Joomla's folder if they were installed to joomla after config.php was changed. Please try this and let me know how it goes. |
