Creating a View (layering calendars) Print
A view is simply a virtual calendar that allows you to view multiple calendars at once. You may add a view by navigating to the calendar administration section of Thyme. If you are logged in as a Super User, click on admin located at Thyme's footer, then select the Calendars icon. If you are logged in as a normal user, click on calendars at Thyme's footer. Here you may add a view.

Enter a title for your view, set the type to View, then put something descriptive in the description.

Once you've created your view, you must add calendars to it. Do this by clicking on Edit (next to the view), then selecting the Calendars tab.

Here you may add or remove calendars from your view.

A view can only be seen by the user whom created it. You may not add or remove members to a view. Remember, each calendar has it's own members list.

You may also use views in your calendar subscriptions. Rather than subscribing to each of the 4 calendars shown above, you can subscribe to the Sales view. Once you create a view, it will automatically appear in the list of calendars you may subscribe to.

In some configurations, you may wish to add a view to everyone's list of calendars. To do this, you must be logged in as a Super User. Navigate to the calendar administration section as described in the steps above.

You may then select Global Views and add/remove/configure views that are displayed to everyone.

Views are an easy way to view multiple calendars at once just as if their events were a single calendar. You can subscribe to a view, access an RSS feed for a view, etc...

You can also configure a View to display events in different colors depending on which calendar they belong to. See the Event / Calendar Coloring section for more information.
