Using Outlook 2007 with Thyme |
|
|
Outlook 2007 has the ability to both subscribe and publish to Thyme's calendars
Subscribing to a Calendar
To subscribe to a calendar, navigate to Thyme in a web browser and click on the details link under the calendar's title.

The calendar's details window will open up where you may click on the link next to Webcal.

Outlook 2007 will automatically start if it is not already running and ask you to confirm that you wish to subscribe to this calendar.

Click on Yes to subscribe to the calendar. The calendar appears in Outlook's list of Other Calendars. Outlook is now subscribed to this calendar and will periodically download any updates made to it.

Publishing a Calendar
Note: to publish a calendar to Thyme, the calendar must already exist and remote access updates must be enabled for that calendar.
Warning: publishing a calendar to Thyme from Outlook 2007 will overwrite existing events in the calendar that you are publishing to. In most cases, this is desired. In some, it is not.
To publish a calendar to Thyme from Outlook 2007, navigate to Thyme in a web browser and click on the details link under the calendar's title.

The calendar's details window will open. Right-click on the iCalendar link and copy the link's address.

Start Outlook 2007 and click on Calendars in the Navigation Pane. Right-click on the calendar you wish to publish and select Publish to Internet -> Publish to WebDAV Server ...

A window will appear that will allow you to configure settings for publishing this calendar.

- In the Location field, you MUST remove the calendar file name. This is everything after the last '/'. The calendar file name is highlighted in the screen shot above.
- The Time Span is left to your discretion.
- Detail will default to "Availability only." In most cases, you will want to change this to "Full details."
- Click OK to publish the calendar. If prompted, please enter your Thyme user name and password.
For more information on these settings please visit the Microsoft Office Website.
The calendar has now been published to Thyme.
