Mozilla Sunbird has the ability to both subscribe and publish to Thyme's calendars. Unlike most other calendar applications, Sunbird can both subscribe and publish to the same calendar.
Mozilla Sunbird (from the makers of Firefox) is the preferred 3rd party calendar application for use with Thyme.
- It's FREE
- Supports multiple languages
- Available for multiple platforms. Windows, MacOS X, Linux, etc..
To subscribe to a calendar, navigate to Thyme in a web browser and click on the details link under the calendar's title.

The calendar's details window will open up. Copy the Webcal link location.

Start Sunbird and click on File -> Subscribe to Remote Calendar...

A window will appear asking to Locate your calendar. Choose On the Network and click Next.

On the next screen, make sure that iCalendar is selected for Format. Paste the URL copied from Thyme into the Location field and click Next.

On the next screen you may change the calendar's title as displayed in Sunbird. This will be pre-populated with the calendar title as displayed in Thyme. Click Next, then Finish.

The subscribed calendar now appears in the list of calendars in Sunbird.

Sunbird performs a 2-way sync on remote calendars. Updates made in Thyme's calendar will be reflected in Sunbird and updates made in Sunbird will be published to Thyme.
An event has been added to Thyme...

.. and is now visible in Sunbird.
Note: depending on Sunbird's refresh interval, you may have to click File -> Reload Remote Calendars in order to see this change.
Note: to publish a calendar to Thyme, the calendar must already exist and remote access updates must be enabled for that calendar.
Sunbird must be told to publish this calendar, but will then do so at regular intervals. To publish this calendar back to Thyme, right click on the Calendar's name and choose Publish Calendar. For Publishing URL, use the same URL that you told Sunbird to subscribe to and click Publish.

Now, adding an event in Sunbird...

.. publishes the event to Thyme
